AquaLoc Frequently Asked Questions:

What is AquaLoc?

AquaLoc is a water retainer that, when incorporated into a soil or a substrate, absorbs and retains large quantities of water and nutrients. Unlike most products that become hydrated, AquaLoc has the property of easily releasing the absorbed water and nutrients, thereby allowing the plant to have water and nutrients available at will as a function of the absorption - release cycles. AquaLoc products have the ability to absorb up to 400 times their weight in distilled water. In the process they become gels.

What does AquaLoc do?

AquaLoc increases the water holding capacity of soils for several years. Irrigation frequency may be reduced by 50%. Limits losses of water and nutrients due to leaching. Reduces evaporation from the soil. Improves the physical properties of compact soils through good aeration. Enhances plant growth. Water and nutrients are continuously available in the root zone for optimal absorption by plants. Protects the environment against drought

How does AquaLoc work?

The polymer consists of a set of polymeric chains that are parallel to each other and regularly linked to each other by cross linking agents, thus forming a network. When water comes into contact with one of these chains, it is drawn into the molecule by osmosis. Water rapidly migrates into the interior of the polymer network where it is stored. As the soil dries out, the polymer releases up to 95% of the absorbed water into the soil.

Is AquaLoc environmentally friendly?

AquaLoc is friendly to the environment because it is biodegradable. AquaLoc therefore degrades naturally in soils (up to 10% - 15% per year) into C02, H20 and nitrogen compounds.

Is AquaLoc safe?

The polymer is not considered toxic if ingested. There are no hazards that require special first aid measures when handling the product. Specific information is contained on the Material Safety Data Sheets.

Is AquaLoc expensive?

A major portion of the response to that question depends on the availability of and the cost of water. With water rationing and rising water costs, any product that can reduce water requirements by 30% to 50% should be considered. If you are putting in a new 5000 sq. ft. lawn and mix the appropriate amount of AquaLoc into the soil, the polymer will cost about $100. If the AquaLoc saves you $35 a month in watering costs, you have recovered your costs in about 3 months. The AquaLoc could stay active in the ground for 3 years or longer. Is that expensive?

How can I become a Rep or Distributor who sells AquaLoc?

A rep is a person who sells AquaLoc to resellers and users in a territory. He does not stock product, but he does assume responsibility for his customers and is the first line of response to their questions. A distributor takes a greater responsibility in developing a territory. He stocks inventory and fills smaller orders from his stock. He sells to users and resellers, but he looks for Reps to further develop the territory. He assumes responsibility for his customers and is the first line of response to their questions.
